The good. The bad. The good in the bad and the bad in the good.
Those who know me closely, know my obsession for Yin Yangs. But what’s interesting is how they have followed me to my office as well.
Every Monday at ARC, our team discusses what's in order and shining bright in the organisation and what's chaotic and lurking in the shadows of our organisation. Each aspect is discussed in alternating meetings just like the koi fish swimming one after the other in cycles. And guess what name these meetings go by? Yin Yang meetings! ☯️
These meetings typically begin with a reflection segment after which, each one lists 2 things that are working well or not working well in the organisation, depending on whether it is a Yin meeting or a Yang meeting. Once all the individual responses are shared, we all vote for one response to focus on in that week.
This practice helps us zoom out of our roles and take a moment to see the bigger picture. This bird’s eye-view in turn enables us to make mindful contributions towards the organisation’s needs, through our work.
Personally, this practice teaches me to find a sweet balance between trust and suspicion.
After all, the white dot in the black and the black dot in white indicates that there is always a possibility for transformation.
Shared below is a picture of my teammates, Adi Raheja and Aditya Pai. Here’s how they coincidentally dressed on a Yin Yang meeting day!✨️
