How to Build a World-Class Organisation Development Firm?

This is the question that was posed to us in our recent monthly module in the Organisation Development Class at ARC, we delved into the topic of 'Using Self as an Instrument of Change.' During a simulation task where we were tasked with creating a World-Class OD Firm, a valuable reflection emerged that I'm eager to share.

The topic for this class was ‘Using Self as an Instrument of Change’. We were put in a simulation, split into two groups and were given the daunting task of creating a World Class OD Firm.

As our group brainstormed extensively on the essential traits of a top-notch OD firm, covering departments, services, and various operational aspects, it became evident that something crucial was missing…

In the midst of the simulation, our facilitator posed a pivotal question: "How will you make a world-class OD firm?" Initially, my response was straightforward—I suggested providing the best services.

However, the facilitator pointed out that the first step "to creating a world-class firm was to become a world-class person". To initiate development and change in the clients we work with, we must first be aware of the shifts within ourselves.

Change starts from within.

This revelation prompted me to reflect on how I can be a leverage to contribute to the creation of a world-class firm.

PS: Here is a picture of us from the OD Class :)
