Our Ways of Working

Integrity

1. Work Ethics

We mean what we say. We respect confidentiality. We keep our agreements.

2. Commitment to Quality, Scope and Timelines

Follow-ups and Reworks are killers of productivity. It impacts trust. We aim to finish things before you get a follow-up. We do it in a way, that requires minimum rework.

3. Don't delay the relay

Handovers need to be smooth, timely and complete. When you delay the relay, you are impacting the entire chain. When you delay the relay, you put pressure on the system. When you delay the relay you might get free, but someone else is putting in extra hours to meet the deadline.

4. Speed Changes Everything

Imagine writing to any organisation and getting a reply after 3 days. Nobody wants that. Speed changes the perception of the clients and your colleagues. Reply even if you don’t have an immediate resolution.

Sensitivity

5. SPOT Sensitivity

We are sensitive to Situations, People, Opportunities, and Timing. We are sensitive to how we impact the SPOT and how the SPOT impacts us. That is the beginning of meaningful change and intervention.

6. Care

Every colleague here has had a long journey with us. Every client of ARC was earned through a recommendation. They trust us and hence, we honour them with care. We don't take things, people, gifts and blessings for granted.

7. Communication

At Basecamp we prefer asynchronous, contextual, and complete communication. We prefer long-form messages instead of short campfires. At the office, we avoid interruptions when people are doing something.

8. AUR Kya?

AUR - Anticipate, Understand, Respond. Listen to what is not said - unsaid expectations, worries, questions. Understand the other person’s POV. Respond before it is expected.

Make a Difference

9. Sign your work

Choose the 'Aha!' Mindset over the 'Bare Minimum Mindset!' Make your work unique. Add that extra touch that's unique to you.

If your work didn't have your name, it should still be identified as yours. Just like your Signature.

10. Purpose and Meaning

Some days would be productive and some won’t. What we need to keep asking: why we do what we do. We are driven by purpose. Ask every day, did I spend my day meaningfully?

11. Get in the Zone

All athletes love the magical, sought-after state of mind known as the zone. Being in the zone is a state of total involvement in the present moment without the mental burden or worry, doubt, or fear about results.

The nature of work at ARC requires us to get in the zone, where we create something noteworthy.

12. Learning

It is okay to not know and even better to admit that we don't know. Learning comes from this space of humility. Not Knowing is the starting point of Knowing. And what lies in between the two is the curiosity to learn.

Autonomy

13. Decide

Ask only when you need an opinion or when it is beyond your swim lane. There is no approval culture here. Other’s inputs are feedback, not mandates. Decide, don’t wait. Take the risk and own it.

14. Good Judgement not Policies

Policies are collective punishments for the ill deeds of one person.

Yes, we can have policies for swipe-in, swipe-out, leaves, spends, behaviours etc. But how does that help? We are not that place. We don't need policies till the time people act with good judgement.

So, the only policy in ARC is to Use Good Judgement.

15. One Step in the Future

ARCians choose to keep walking, with one foot in the present and one in the future. Through shape-ups, we spend dedicated time every day to create the future by building in the present.

Synergy

16.Team Work

Let's accept that there are no solo fliers here. Don't be the smartest accelerator that leaves the car behind. We are interdependent. We own our team’s successes and mistakes. And when anyone is in trouble, we stand by them like a rock.

17. Respect

Respect is not just in words but in actions. It is beyond the Sirs and the Ma’ams. Presence, effort and communication need to be acknowledged and respected.

Respect lays a healthy foundation for creative disagreement.

18. Openness

There is no hiding here. We are open about our thoughts, opinions, work and schedules. It reduces friction. It helps us work better. And we speak up when things don't work.

Get a Life

19. Get a life

Take your dog for a walk. Go, travel. Have some beer. Watch that series. Paint something. Meet your friends. Life is not only about work. Aim to log off by 7. You won't be appreciated for working late hours and Sundays here.

20. Have Fun and Play

We are in serious business. But we don't need to be serious all the time. We need lighter moments, laughter, fun and easing out. Play helps us improve our focus. Having fun helps us deal with serious issues more creatively.
