Have Fun?

Back in my regular cricket playing days, there was a pre-match ritual that always unfolded. Before I ventured out for my matches, my mom would hand me a bowl of ‘dahi cheeni’ (curd and sugar), a considered good luck charm, coupled with a brief prayer in front of the gods.

Only after completing these small rituals was I allowed to leave home. Yet, as I would step out through the door, my mom's voice would echo, "Have Fun!"

It took some time, but I later discovered the profound depth of that seemingly simple statement. Amidst my pre-game jitters and constant thoughts about the match, her words resonated as a reminder of the true reason behind my love for the sport.

In retrospect, I can't claim to have fully internalised that sentiment, but looking back, it was undeniably a game-changer.

But somehow this saying has followed me in my workplace. We at ARC believe in Work and Play. The work that we do is serious, to balance it out we keep having our bouts of play in the form of foosball and fun conversations.

In the maze of our own thoughts, we often forget a simple directive – to "Have Fun!"

This just serves as a reminder that not everything has to be approached with intense seriousness. Sometimes, amidst the strategies and pressures, the essence of why we started gets lost.

This is just another way of saying- Enjoy the Journey :)

P.S. Here is a picture of us during an intense foosball match…
