Learn how to ‘Learn’.

If people could change just by talking, the world would be a different place.

This is a common phrase that we use at ARC. We see a lot of organisations invest heavily in keynote speakers, training outbounds and other short learning programs.

We understand that while these short experiences can bring things into one’s awareness but a true shift happens in a person when they go beyond awareness and take action.

Awareness is not the goal but the starting point. True learning goes beyond than just awareness, it is a process that is best described by Kolb’s Learning cycle.
First proposed by David A. Kolb, it is a four-stage model that describes the process of experiential learning:

1\ Concrete Experience (CE), where individuals engage in an immersive experience.

2\ This is followed by Reflective Observation (RO), where learners reflect on and analyse the experience.

3\ The third stage is Abstract Conceptualisation (AC), involving the development of theories or generalisations from the reflection.

4\ Finally, learners move to Active Experimentation (AE), applying these concepts in new situations.

The cycle emphasises the iterative nature of learning, encouraging a continuous loop of experiencing, reflecting, conceptualising, and experimenting for effective and holistic learning.

Hence most of the learning programs that we conduct are called ‘Journeys’ and not training sessions. A learner goes through this cycle of learning to excel at any topic.
