How the dots join…

6 years back I got a call from Adi Raheja asking, "Would you be interested in doing graphic facilitation for an experiential seminar? I've heard that you like to paint and doodle. I think you'd be good at it."

Knowing Adi for a while now, this must've been one of those serendipitous ideas that he gets very often..

Intrigued by the opportunity to pursue art professionally, I agreed, only later researching what 'graphic facilitation' actually entails.

In simple words, graphic facilitation is the use of a combination of graphics such a diagrams, pictures, symbols and writing to create a mindmap of a seminar or workshop. The graphic facilitator draws the graphics by hand in real time during the event to capture the key concepts covered in the workshop.

My first ever graphic facilitation at an HR community forum was a hit! It was heartening to have my artwork appreciated and photographed by so many people at the event.

From then on, ARC would occasionally invite me to do graphic facilitation for L&D and OD workshops.

The picture shared below is from my recent work on a Large-Scale Interactive Process.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to ARC (Adi Raheja and Co) for giving me the opportunity to do what I love so much!

Today, when I look back, I see my journey from drawing and colouring for hours together as a kid to doing graphic facilitation professionally and wonder, "How the dots join"..
