Aim for behaviour and not the outcome.

When any work needs to be done; I have started referring to these 3 golden words:

AIM FOR BEHAVIOUR

It starts by understanding the fact that we are all humans and we each have different motives, behaviours and ways of working.

Any work flow broadly looks like this, be it for machines or humans:

Input —>Process —> Output

However, for machines, the process may look white and black since the commands are fixed. On the other hand, the processing for humans involves a whole spectrum of behaviours that influence the outcome.

(Some of these factors are mentioned in the image below.)

Let’s take an outcome where the organisation desires to increase its work efficiency by 30%. However, if they only focus on reducing protocols and action steps, would it be holistic?

Hence, a behaviour-based strategy is more desirable here since it delves into the core of how we operate. It's about understanding mindsets, motives, work styles, personalities, thought processes, and communication dynamics.

While dealing with humans, let’s aim for behaviour to unlock the desired outcomes.
