⏰ Clock Building, not just Time-Telling

One of my favourite principles from a powerful book, Built to Last (Jim Collins) is that "long-lasting organisations are clock-building not just time-telling."

Time-telling organisations overemphasise short-term results, are stuck in everyday hustle and work with a quick-fix mentality. “There is so much to firefight today that we can't think of tomorrow.”

While Clock-building organisations focus on the purpose, build structures & systems that scale and create a culture that drives long-term growth.

Clock-building organisations are built to last.

What kind of organisation are you creating?
