Groundhog Day! 🌋
Have you watched the movie Groundhog Day? It is a 1993 classic in which Phil Conners lives the same day again and again unless he learns to live it differently.
My favourite quote from the movie is:
What would you do if you were stuck in one place? And every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did matter?
I wonder, aren’t most of us stuck somewhere like this? Think of certain sticky behaviours, performance issues, relationships with some people or something as simple as building a routine for yourself. If the situations you are dealing with aren’t much different from those you dealt with six months or two years back, you haven’t grown in that area of your life.
Then why is it so? That we, as rational human beings with immense problem-solving abilities, still grapple with similar things over time. The context may be different. But if you look deeply, mostly, there is a common underlying theme to these issues. It is because of our unknown thinking patterns and our inability to outgrow them.
This is exactly where coaching helps. Coaching helps you to work through your limiting patterns to outgrow them.
Depth Coaching For Leaders
Depth Coaching is based on the principles of Depth Psychology (Freud, Jung, Adler, et al.) and Applied Behavioural Science. It is different from traditional executive coaching. Depth coaching goes beyond solving a problem or achieving a goal. It helps you to outgrow the underlying limitations so that you break free from your own Groundhog Day.
As you undergo the depth coaching process, know that it has worked for you when you don’t need your coach anymore. Coaches in the ARC Team work hard to be dispensable and this happens by enabling the coachees to become independent.
The best of the leaders in the world have also been through coaching in some form. Have you, yet?
