Discovering Team Effectiveness

With discovering team effectiveness, each team member receives their individual Insights Discovery Profile. This helps each person to be aware of their colour mix and appreciate the uniqueness they bring to the team.

This journey brings various colour energies to light that are present in a group.

This helps strengthen the team journeys to work better and fulfil their shared goals. Team's effectiveness is measured through 4 pillars:

  • Process: This includes a team's working methods, skills, and aligned priorities.

  • Climate: The team's internal environment. It involves elements of trust, collaboration and cohesion.

  • Flow: A team in flow has an open dialogue, space for new ideas, is agile, innovative and always ready to respond when needed.

  • Focus: A team with a clear focus will have a shared vision, be accountable and have a strong commitment to delivering results.

Read how insights helped a team to deliver complex projects on time, within scope, and to specification.

Top-down view of four people working together on a creative project with geometric tools and black and white shapes.
  • A project team consisting of members with dominant red, green and blue energy. As a collective team was a powerhouse of execution. Red energy drove ambitious goals and decisive action. Blue energy ensured meticulous planning, quality standards, and risk management. Green energy fostered collaboration, listened to stakeholder concerns, and maintained team harmony.

Result? They consistently delivered complex projects on time, within scope, and to specification.

Despite their track record, their projects struggled to gain organizational visibility. Stakeholder buy-in was lukewarm. Leadership questioned the projects' strategic value. The team felt their hard work went unnoticed.

What Was Missing: The team lacked Sunshine Yellow energy, the spark of enthusiasm, the art of storytelling, the ability to generate excitement. Without it:

    • Project kickoffs felt procedural, not inspiring

    • Updates were data-heavy but failed to energize.

    • Wins were documented, not celebrated

    • The vision got lost in the execution

What becomes important: Through Insights, identifying members with easier access to yellow energy and bringing it to the table. Intentionally bringing these voices forward to champion the project with compelling narratives of impact.

The Outcome: The same projects, now infused with Yellow energy gained executive sponsorship, cross-functional support, and organizational recognition. The team didn't change what they delivered. They changed how the world saw it.

"Leadership is not about being in charge. It's about taking care of those in your charge."
